What Makes a Good Leader Essay - 474 Words - …
When I’m asked to think of great leaders, individuals such as Mohandas Gandhi and Martin Luther King, Jr. come to mind; individuals who are, or were determined, inspiring, caring, and responsible. Most importantly these people come to mind because they gave their all to make a positive impact on the world around them. These individuals dedicated their lives to inspiring and encouraging people to stand up for what is right. They fought to the end to bring about peace and equality. This is what a true great leader does. This, I believe.
What Makes a Good Leader Essay ..
Nice essay. I'm so frustrated with what's happened to liberal democracy. The administration and their supporters are making a ton of money on the wars, security theater, and they'll make a great deal more as they scale up oil production. Eisenhower warned us about the military-industrial complex becoming too powerful more than 40 years ago. Organizations like the TSA (and DHS, FEMA, CIA,etc) are created and never go away even if everyone outside were to agree the agency adds little value because law enforcement organizations become self-perpetuating. If the terror were to subside the TSA will redefine its mission to ensure its ongoing survival. I'm not saying that all of these agencies should be abolished, but there are a lot of US federal agencies that long ago reached a point where they are no longer worth their expense.
A great leader should be so determined to achieve their goal, whatever it may be, that they will stop at nothing to make it happen. By “goal,” I must mention that I mean a positive, selfless goal—one that is backed with good intentions and doesn’t aim to hurt or bring down others. A great leader is always willing to go the extra mile to do something great—and they inspire others to do the same. This, I believe.
